The Thirsty Barber – Malta’s First 1920’s Themed Bar
Since its official opening in July, The Thirsty Barber has regularly been enjoying full houses and along with some fantastic reviews each week!
The Thirsty Barber brings an exciting new experience to St. Julian’s where people who are looking to enjoy themselves in a fresh and sophisticated environment, whilst enjoying the most delicious cocktails on the island!
Also known as The Roaring Twenties, Prohibition was a period when all alcohol was prohibited in the US and Canada in attempt to reduce crime rates, which ironically backfired. In order to sell alcohol illegally, speakeasies were created in hidden sections of establishments, such as barbershops, where people had to say a password to enter to prove that they were not secret agents.
This is what brought on the inspiration for this new bar. Some of the island’s best interior designers worked very hard to perfectly reflect a real Prohibition barber-themed speakeasy. The Thirsty Barber successfully manages to create an authentic 1920’s vibe, complete with genuine uniforms for the mixologists and waiters and waitresses akin to1920’s Prohibition America.
The menu offers a vast range of amazing drinks, a super compliment of whiskies, vodka and Gin not forgetting the wonderful ‘Home Made’ infusions, as well as a comprehensive list of cocktails including a special group of Prohibition drinks carefully designed by the most skilled mixologists in Malta!
The bar also offers great entertainment through the delightful sounds of some of Malta’s best entertainers, with music ranging from electro swing to acoustic acts and much more.
So if you have a love for the 1920’s, are over 21, and are looking for a different way to spend your nights, The Thirsty Barber really is the place to be.
